BUSHISMS

THIS FOUNDATION LEVEL PROJECT WAS CREATED IN INTRODUCTION TO GRAPHIC DESIGN DURING SPRING ‘12.

For this assignment I selected a photographic portrait of George W. Bush and was asked to manipulate it using a variety of digital and physical techniques. The first five squares demonstrate basic color and outline variations while the last play with different medias in order to explore deeper characteristics of the infamous president. Most images of George W. Bush depict him with an awkward grin or confused stare, which is why I purposefully choose this solemn faced image to serve as the simple backdrop to stronger political messages evoked by the illustrations. Being elected president means exposing oneself to the opinions of the world, and as a Bush era survivor, I hope to reveal one of these unique perspectives through the juxtaposition of colors and textures.
