GLASS CASTLE BOOK COVER

THIS MISCELLANEOUS PROJECT WAS CREATED IN INTERMEDIATE TYPOGRAPHY DURING THE FALL ‘10

The Glass Castle, by Jeannette Walls, is a memoir inspired by her experience growing up with an alcoholic father. She tells the story of the empty promises her father, Rex Walls, makes to his children: that once he has enough money he will build them a glass castle, when in reality, he could barely keep a roof over their heads. The bottles cast a shadow on the wall reminding us of the darkness that can overtake the promise of tomorrow. The glass bottles symbolize Rex's empty and fragile promises which are often shattered by reality.
