Culture Clash Dance Party

Digital and Emerging Media Design II | Yana Sakellion | Spring '13

The Sitar Arts Center is a local DC non-profit that provides free after school art programs for unserved, at-risk youth. I developed the idea of a “Culture Clash Dance Party,” that would give teens the opportunity to learn about a new culture in an active and artistically engaging way. I choose the colors red and yellow to represent the “clash” of high-powered Capoiera and smoother hip-hop rhythms.
