TWEED RIDE

THIS MISCELLANEOUS PROJECT WAS CREATED IN PRINT DESIGN AND THE COMPUTER DURING THE FALL ‘10

Tweed Ride is an annual bike ride held in Washington, D.C. which encourages participants to ride throughout D.C. while dressed up in 1920's and 1930's clothing. The design of all of the materials, the save the date, invitation, pamphlet, and giveaway, all mirror the humorous but seemingly formal tone of the event. The type, which is the main focus of the piece was formatted in a way that creates a modern take on a broadside poster. However, although the type may seem serious on the surface, the written copy takes on a humorous tone. The warm original photography taken at the event, which is placed on the back of several of the event materials, gives the audience a better idea of the overall style of Tweed Ride. Also, who doesn't love a project where moustaches are able to take a prominent role?
